"I charge you, O Daughters of Jerusalem, Do not stir up nor awaken love Until it pleases."
I came across this verse tonight. This is truly the perfect versefor anyone who feels like they desperately need love in their life to get through another day. The author's words are so beautiful and his choice of words describes in depth the way only God can love someone.
Movies, Television, and the public throw us in a whirl wind of what love is "supposed" to be like. The romantic, head over heals, reach for the stars, world series kinda love. I know in my life it is so easy to watch movies and get so caught up in finding this "perfect prince." Maybe its the way he sweeps the princess off her feet, in his big strong arms or maybe its how his voice speaks right to her and how his words flow so smoothly out of his mouth.
In this verse, Solomon is saying. Wait, wait, wait on God. I know a lot of times girls in general try to rush love and being in relationships, instead of waiting on the perfect time. I think that a lot of good relationships end, because the two people aren't fully focused on what God has in store but rather on the When and Now.
This verse reminds us to be patient and wait for love to happen and not to "stir it up" before God has planned.

"Make it Happen"
Summer 2010. Something I will never forget. Working at Camp Longridge changed my life in so many different ways.
Before Summer, I just remember starting freshman year knowing I needed God, but instead running farther and farther in the opposite directions. Ive always grown up in a Christian home, where God was at times "thrown in my face." I attended private schools growing up, but never fully understood what being a Christian really meant until I was out on my own and God was no longer forced in my life. I remember starting college being so excited about all the new oppurtunities I would have as I grew up and got older. Freedom was what I was looking for.
I tried making God who I wanted Him to be and chose to have Him around only when I felt I needed Him. I remember one night I was on the computer looking at old pictures from a summer camp I went to when I was much younger. Just being spontaneous, I saw an application for future summer staffers. I decided to fill out the application rushing through it just to see if I would get a response. Luckily to my surprise, the next week I was asked to come in for an interview.
Taking the job at camp, was just what I needed and I think God knew that in order for me to place him fully in the center of my life. I had to get away from home and be clearly able to see God in a whole new way. Summer took off and Im sure some of the staff can testify we truly understood the meaning of hard work. Seeing little kids this summer eager to know God, really showed me so much. It gave me a new purpose and helped me to come back to my purpose. The purpose God puts us all on earth for, to serve Him and show people God's love.
I met some amazing people this summer.

The true definition of a hero
So Im new to this whole blog thing, Miss Kayla Barton you inspired me after reading your blog. Im not really sure how to start off my first blog. So here goes nothing.
What is a hero to you? Ive been thinking about this a lot in the last week. Is a hero someone huge and strong like in action movies, or is it something as small as a close friend or family member? What does a hero possess and how does one change from a normal person into this heroic person that leaves a legacy in someones life forever?
To me, a hero can come in many different kinds well known or not known at all. I gained two new heros this week. Alex Bush and Katie Scott, though I never truly got to know either of you hearing your story really made me gain a new perspective about what life really is all about. For all of you who dont know, Alex and Katie were two young adults, Katie was 22 and Alex 24. Two normal people going to school in Charleston, falling in love more and more each day. I cant imagine how it must of felt seeing that car in a split second headed straight into both of you. Alex was ready to marry Katie and had bought a ring for her planning to propose soon. In a split second, on December 30, their dream they had built on came crashing down when a drunk driver carelessly crashed into them head on going 80 mph.
Im sure alot of people, questioned God after finding out about what had happend. Why had God taken these two young people with so much future and potential? I wanted to think the same thing when I found out. God there so young, they have so much life left to live. Why not take someone else thats lived a long, successful, and complete life?
The truth is God never promises us a great life, He never said we would die old and peacefully. We make it seem like God promised us a long life and try blaming God when this doesn't happen Yes, most people are blessed with a long life, but not all of us. God has placed on earth for a certain task, and once were done with His task He takes us back home. We look at this as some kind of negative thing, and God is punishing us somehow, when really are real reward is coming. God did promise us one thing, He promised us a eternal reward. That reward starts when we choose to throw off all the package and crap we live in everyday for something far greater that only He can offer.
We are never promised tomorrow, and Im sure everyone close to Katie and Alex can attest to this. Why waste one more day doing something you could be doing today?
Katie and Alex, even though I never knew either of you. Im so thankful I was able to become friends with your family. Thanks for leaving an impact on my life, and I cant wait to meet you both one day.
